How I Got Back into Working Out After Pregnancy
I started going to fitness classes the day after I was cleared by my doctor- I just couldn’t wait to move my body!! I started SLOW at @fpc.nyc because I wanted to learn about what was safe to do early on (highly recommend doing so btw because even as a fitness enthusiast, I had zero clue). Your doctor most likely won’t inform you on the deets (mine didn’t)- even after you’re cleared, there’s so much you’re not ready for yet.
Below are a few recommendations to help you ease your way back into a fitness routine- whether you’re PP or recovering from an injury:
- @fpc.nyc postnatal class (babies welcome)
- @dancebody sculpt express / 101 (don’t be afraid to modify any moves you’re not comfortable doing)
- @justlikeom pilates (they also offer prenatal, which is a great beginner option) + new mama yoga club
- @newyorkpilates sculpt & Restore
- @uptownpilates pre/post natal tower
- @corepilatesnyc pre/post natal mat class
- @melissawoodhealth has online pre/ post natal workouts
I also recommend not pushing yourself to do any class/ moves you’re not ready for. I’m excited to get back to @solidcore & @sltnyc but they’re going to have to wait for now.
